Games start in like four days and we've got a lot to cover!

• Bonus Round Zero
Okay guys, I am amazed at how well you all did to conforming to my deadline! Everyone managed to post their art in time. I'm so proud of you c:

Now that we've all handed in something, I'd like to move onto secondary fills. To get the maximum amount of points from the bonus round, I'd like us to make a total of ten sets of art. Since Ally made something for an additional ship, we only need two more people to create another submission. I'll be going around in search of a member to art later. I'd like to have this person post their set by Thursday of this week.

• Pre-Game Promotional
I'm also super proud of you all for doing the pre-game promotional with the exception of Keyra. Good work :D.

• Shipping Names
And, of course, we're still looking for titles to our ship. Send me your ideas!

• How to break out of our comfort zone
There are a bunch of common ways in which fanwork is portrayed. Most of the time it's through fan fiction, fan art, or a hash of the two. Other common fan things are cosplay and voice acting (or a hash of the two: live action). Less common: animation, sculpting, interprative dance. Fan songs. Nail art. Creative Suddenly Pasta.

There are a lot of different ways that we can tackle each prompt, and I can tell you already that we - like most the other teams - are going to try and flock to fic + art.

Fic + Art will be the simplest thing for us to do: it includes everyone, is generally easy, and can be pretty awesome. The flaws are that everyone will be doing this, we will have obnoxious restrictions, and, after a while, it's going to get boring. My solution would be to take this concept, use it once, then jump into something 'different' that we can do well that will capture the hearts of Team English and the other shippers alike. It's a real risky move, but with preparation I think we can do it.

Us doing something that is not exactly of the norm requires us to do things outside of our norm - things we're not comfortable doing, necessarily. We need to seriously break out and extend our comfort zone and soon.

I'd say that we ease into this gently - if you act, try voice acting.If you write fics, try writing song lyrics. If you draw, try decorating a cake. If you make FSTs, try writing music.

I'm going to make a post with the specifics but I think that every week for the entire duration of the games I'm going to have us do little things to try and get us to really test our abilities. I don't know if I'll really have us do this for the entire game, but I'm going to have us to this at least once so we can get the feel of something new. It's going to be annoying and your results may suck, but it's the experience that I'm trying to get at!

 

• How to Ship

Another concept that sounds brutally obnoxious, but is pretty necessary?

 

It occurred to me that not all of us are regular ~shippers, and that we might require a good push in the right direction when it comes to this sort of thing. Alternatively, for our regulars, we might actually do better if we... actually ship the ship we're supporting? So I want to have a post wherein we collect our thoughts on... how to jump on board with a ship, how to create things, and things of that sort.

 

• How we are going to art

Like I said before, there are a bunch of distinct art forms and - though the prompt will determine which we use - I would like to at least establish some base types that we can actually utilize. Once we better define our abilities, I'll make a post where we can list and collect our ideas.

 

• Analysis

This is probably what you're looking forward to most! The more I think about it, the more unlikely it seems that we'll be able to actually get started letalone finish our analyses by Friday. Instead, I'm offering an alternative: find a pre-existing analysis of your assigned character/topic. If you can't find anything - sorry kid - but I want a ≥15 bullet list (with linked evidence) based on your topic.

• Roll Call
I received an email regarding roll call, which starts... now, I guess? It basically requests that I send you guys a message saying to contact me. So I'll send out a message and I'd like you guys to respond saying that you're alive and still in the game.

 
• Required Reading
Be sure to check out the most recent updates. They’re pretty much setting up the basis for our ship. This is must for all team members, regardless of place in the comic!

• Upcoming things
I’m going to sweep through and see what other dates are coming up. The games start on Friday, June 2nd.
 

• Team Chats/Meet ups
I’m also want to have at least one online full team meet up before the start of the game. The meet up with pretty much be a required twenty minute Skype chat. Afterwords, we'll discuss any subsequent full team chats and a possible meet up?

• Team Shuffle
Another Team Shuffle post has been released! I'm going to send one of you (not Kristina since she did it last time, or any of the people who do an additional br0 post - actually this person is probably going to be me because there's no one else) to the post to comment and try to get some people on our team. We need all the help we can get!
