Hello there!
Mostly everyone has joined this community (with the exception of Kristina/ruemasde - you buttmunch I am going to hunt you down) so I guess we can more or less start doing things. Well, more things.
So I want to tackle the first thing I brought up the other day, which was joining the community, confirming our accounts, and customization.
• Joining the Community
This is more or less done! Super thanks to Keyra/volatiletimes for being the first to join via accepting the provided request, Ally/thatfeatheryprick for actually taking the effort to find the 'join community' button and sending a request herself (which I actually didn't notice at first - sorry again!), and Georgia/mouseflower for following directions like a pro.
As for Valerie/valjameslynn and Skye/undermutt, I kind of used my palhoncho-privileges to add you to the comm. Valerie because she's a sick moirail and Skye because I'm not sure she knows her password. This will probably be the last time I do something like that, so please be on top of things guys!
Kristina/ruemasde - please get savvy to the program. I can lead an assbaka to water but I can't make them drink (:
• Confirm Your Accounts
It's pretty simple - after signing up for Dreamwidth, they'll send you an email requesting that you confirm your account. Please do this as soon as you can if you haven't already!
• Customization
That's regarding our general community appearance and icon. I've asked Ally/thatfeatheryprick to make us an icon and hopefully she'll stick to it and do it :D.
• Bonus Round Information
I'm aware of the fact that not all of you know every detail of the games, or bonus rounds, specifically. Basically, we will be given a prompt on something to create (one that will probably be for a ship other than our own) and will have a week (confirmation necessary) to fill it. Each prompt submitted will give our team points!
Things awesome about this:
(1) It's usually for another team.
(2) They're quick and easy to do.
(3) You get points - no votes necessary!
(4) More than one person can submit for the bonus rounds, and I'm pretty sure that more than one fill per person can be submitted.
The fact that most bonus round prompts will require us to do something for another team - while still giving points to our team - is super neat! I know that Jake<3Terezi is probably way down low on your shipping wall, if it's present at all, so this gives you a chance to provide support for your actual OTPs. Go crazy with it!
The bonus round prompts from last year seemed simple enough to comply to. I expect them to be nice and painless this year too (:
The vote system isn't really present here, from what I've deduced. This gives us a huuugeee shot and I want to take advantage of it! Since it's possible that we won't even get one vote for the main round entries, getting free points that rely on only us is pretty sweet.
We can really stock up on points if all of us can provide multiple fanworks! Do I need to explain why? (;
I'll post more regarding the bonus rounds when the first prompt goes up later today!
• Pre-Game Promotional
Please reblog/post the banner found here and comment on the post with the link if you have not done so already. We need all the points we can get. The mods didn't specify a date in which this is due by, but since it says pre-game, it's definitely implied that we need to do this soon.
• Tackling the Next Issue

• Contact me.
If you have done any of these things, please notify me in some way. You guys see me pretty much everyday and have various accounts of mine in which to contact me and I'll post everything up in a member-only post soon. Please do this - otherwise, I'll be required to pull teeth and it isn't something I want to do.
• Roll Call
I am holding you responsible for this. Starting May 28th, each one of you will be required to comment on our comm or shoot me an email saying that you are here and still on the team. I am so scared that you guys don't go through the HSO info pages or this community or won't listen to me or don't really want to participate this at all, so I may sort of mention roll call in person, but please do this. Please please please please I don't know how to be a Palhoncho I am not Karkat no one likes me lsakjdslkajlfk
• Frequency of Viewing HSO-related Information
I don't expect you guys to refresh the main olympics page or this comm page every other minute, but please try and check at least this page out once or twice a day. I'll contact you if anything urgent happens regardless, but doing these regular checks would be awesome and would make my job way easier.
